We are looking for a joyful and energetic leader to join our staff here at St. Helen. We push ourselves everyday to pray hard, work hard, and play hard. Our aim is joyful discipleship on staff in order to live out our parish mission to form Joyful Disciples who know, love and serve Jesus Christ. In our liturgies and devotional celebrations we are building up a culture of discipleship through heartfelt and active worship, cultural sensitivity, and ministry. Creative problem solving combined with an active schedule make our liturgical ministry engaging and growth producing for the people who serve in them. Most importantly we follow the Lord's lead in our ministry by spending 30 minutes everyday in prayer and then go out as doers of the Word.


Ministerial Character

The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish (St. Helen Catholic Church - Georgetown, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him.  He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish.  In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people).  He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.


Positions employed at St. Helen Catholic Church - Georgetown, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description.  Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.


Job Summary:

The Liturgy Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating all liturgical and devotional celebrations in close cooperation with the Clergy. The position reports to the Director of Parish Life, and operates under supervision with some latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, oversee and evaluate all liturgical and devotional celebrations.
  • Create, review and maintain the schedule of clergy and liturgical ministers, in close collaboration with Priest and ministries leaders.
  • Plan and lead monthly meeting with the liturgy committee and provide the liturgical ministry leaders with checklists for liturgical seasons.
  • Recruit, train and maintain volunteers for liturgical ministries.
  • Ensure that the liturgical worship space is adequately prepared for all liturgical and devotional celebrations and contact the Facilities Manager as needed. Work closely with the arts and environment volunteer.
  • Ensures that liturgical supplies and vessels are adequately prepared for all liturgical and devotional celebrations (linens, vessels, candles, wine, communion hosts). Order flowers for the sanctuary in the church if requested by donors.
  • Create and maintain the liturgical ministries schedules for all liturgical and devotional celebrations through MSP (Ministry Scheduler Pro) software and distribute schedule as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee funerals, including scheduling the presider and liturgical ministers for the vigil, funeral Mass, and bereavement reception.
  • Spend every workday 30 minutes in the Eucharistic Adoration chapel.
  • Maintain a work schedule and full time attendance according to established Parish business hours.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Roman Catholic teachings, parish and diocesan structure.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural parish serving various cultures and a wide range of age groups.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work effectively with staff, clergy, and laity.
  • Ability to operate various word-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and utilize effective time management techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and implement creative solutions.
  • Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate in English and Spanish (writing, reading and conversing).


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Trainings:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.



  • One (1) year of related work experience is required.
  • Years beyond the requirement may be substituted for the educational requirement at a ratio of one (1) year of experience equals one (1) year of education, with a maximum substitution of 4 (four) years' experience equals a bachelor's degree.


  • Bilingual English-Spanish (proficient in writing, reading and conversing).

Catholic Requirement:

  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.


  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.


Working Conditions:

  • All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.
  • The Parish is an at-will employer.
  • All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco free.
  • Working in a fast paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
  • Working on weekends, evenings and some holidays will be required.
  • Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct and speech including Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
  • Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.

May be required to use personal vehicle to drive off-site locations.
